B.A.S.I.C.S. | Triangle of Safety

6m Education 2024

High Five's Foundation's short promoting safety awareness in snow sports.

The 202324 B.A.S.I.C.S. Docuseries, the ‘Triangle of Safety’ recounts a family’s love for skiing, emphasizing the joy they found in sharing this passion with their children. Tragedy struck on Christmas Eve 2010 when a collision took the life of their five-year-old daughter, Elise. Despite the heartbreak, the family established the Snow Angel Foundation to educate others on collision avoidance in skiing and snowboarding. The key focus is on the “Triangle of Safety,” comprising speed, space, and self. The video offers insights into managing speed, maintaining safe space between skiers and riders, and understanding one’s limits for a safer skiing experience. The family encourages a collective commitment to safety and invites others to join the movement through the Snow Angel Foundation’s & High Fives Foundation’s websites. Ultimately, our goal is to prevent similar accidents and honor Elise’s memory by promoting safety awareness in snow sports.
